Studio Armusik, Hamburg, PA
$650 USD
During three intensive eight-hour
days you will learn the principles essential in transform flat shapes
into fully dimensional forms, understanding the importance of angularity
and creating a strong sense of light essential to a dramatic portrait
in this class. Students concentrate in this lesson on creating the
portrait using a moderately limited palette of traditional colors
to create accurate value calibrations. Eric will instruct each student
to focus with confidence on structure, anatomy, proportion, light
direction, edge conditions, contrast and overall subtle qualities
necessary to make a good portrait an extraordinary one. This portrait
painting workshop you will learn to achieve these subtleties using
opaque and semi-opaque paint in the light and shadow areas. Students
will develop painting skills such as scumbling, feathering, and
transparent glazing to create finished work quickly. Overall, the
course will prepare students to create beautiful work in a compressed
schedule (a quality many in-demand portrait artists must adapt to
at a moment's notice.) A great course for artists of all levels.

* I expect all artists planning to study with me

in tandum with achieving your personal goals to make your experience
