Private Art Lessons in Classical Realism and Figurative Art

Private art lessons are available for students looking for more in depth training. Potential students need to be self-motivated, passionate about their craft and driven to learn. In the time of instruction you will learn my particular craft and ideas and once these ideals are achieved I will support you in developing your own voice and style.I only take on a limited number of students each year. I am looking for applicants who want to develop both their technical knowledge and historical knowledge of the great masters of the past. I am not biased towards those with training or those with only God given talent. What I am looking for is your desire to learn and an open mind. Students will work entirely from life to train their eyes to paint and draw what they see using traditional classical realism techniques. Private Lessons are an hourly rate and will be subject to a portfolio review.

While the workshops I offer are for students age 14 and up I do understand that some younger children are more mature artistically at an early age. Exceptions to the age requirement will be considered on an individual basis and will be determined by meeting with the potential student and their parents. If the artistic potential is determined to be there I will certainly make the exception with the understanding that what is offered is not childrens art classes but a mature understanding of art and art history. Figure Drawing will not be offered to students under the age of 18.
